Melbourne intellectual, artist and gadabout Dr. Patrick Stokes is reknowned for his savage wit, scalpel-like insight, and complete inability to eat without emitting a low, irritating groaning noise.

Patrick is the guitar-playing McCoy and writes the music for the act. Some call him 'the Billy Bragg of Melbourne Comedy', but that doesn't mean you can. His favorite McCoy moment to date was probably shredding his vocal chords as the voice of Will Yellowlegs: Pirate Cop.

Patrick holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, which almost certainly makes him cooler than you. His area of specialisation is the work of long-dead Danish miseryguts Søren Kierkegaard on which subject he's published in scholarly books and journals.

Outside of McCoy duties he's also performed solo standup and appeared onstage with Stonnington Theatre Company.

When not performing, studying or screaming at passersby, Patrick lives quietly with his two pet ducks, who may or may not be plotting to kill him. His hard-won peace can be disturbed at patrick@fakemccoys.com.au
