23 December - The Fake McCoys receive theatrical credibility! A world mourns...

World share prices plummetted this weekend, as The Fake McCoys were nominated for 'Best Independent Theatre Company' at the 2007 Short and Sweet short play festival in Melbourne. The play was entitled "Of Art and Artifice", written by Christian and Megan Price, and starring Emma Sachsse, Matt Elsbury and Christian Price.

Religious leaders have unanimously declared this nomination to be the herald of the End of Days.

The Fake McCoys will be making a special guest appearance tonight on Triple J's 'Sunday Night Safran', John Safran and Father Bob McGuire's weekly comic look at religion and politics. Make sure you tune in (107.5FM in Melbourne, other frequencies nationwide, or streaming at www.abc.net.au/triplej). And if you're thinking "oh no, tonight has already passed!" (hang on, what?), fear not: the program should be available for download at the program website.

Out of respect for the untimely passing of Steve Irwin, we've removed a "Let's News" piece from the Audio page. We've had a lot of fun at his expense over the years, but no-one can deny that today we've lost a passionate and committed environmentalist and educator. It's a terrible shock and we feel desperately sad for his family.

Last week, Comedy Inc- The Late Shift started showing some of the sketches we've written for them this season. Be watching Channel 9 at 10:30pm on Sunday nights and see if you can pick which ones are ours! (Besides, kick-ass comic and fellow former 'Planet Comedy' alumnus Scott Brennan is in the cast this season, so you should be watching it anyway).

Neat Freaks on the Internet

While doing some research for our TV writing commitments earlier this week, we stumbled across this on the Scottish Classical Dressage Centre's website:

WTF? "Please remember to close this window"?? What, will leaving it open let a draught in or something? Burglars might get in? We're all for leaving the internet neat and tidy but for crying out loud, Scottish Classical Dressage Centre. We may not be hard-partying hell-raisers like you guys but that doesn't mean we need a lecture on not leaving browser windows open after getting our fix of equestrian definitions!

Seriously, this is one of the strangest things we've seen on the web. It's like someone's stingy great-aunt has written it. Weird.

The Message Board is up again, you can all relax. Once again, the world is safe for democracy, justice, and spam posts we have to clean out every five minutes.

Our Message Board is out of commission at the moment, as it's apparently been destroyed by Turkish hackers. Our first instinct is to retaliate by launching a full-scale invasion of Turkey, but the last time Australians tried that it didn't work out all that well. So instead of months of costly and pointless trench warfare we'll just try to replace the message board as soon as we get the chance.

And stay tuned for some new video action very soon! Because if you don't, then the Turkish hackers have already won...
